The stress of war time traffic had worn out most of the equipment used in passenger service. This was to be fixed with shinny new streamliners from manufactures Budd, Pullman and EMD. The DVD covers the story beginning in the 1930s during the depression right through the end of pasenger service by the great railroads of the day with the passing of the California Zepher. I found it disappointing because I was expecting to see a program actually devoted to streamliners rather than the extensive economic and social history of the times.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere were about a hundred streamliners over the years and there must be plenty of corporate and amateur movie stock to produce an hour program of these trains (though it is only fifty-four minutes long). There are some interesting train clips on the DVD but they really only add up to a few minutes.
